Go Sea Shepherd!

Go Sea Shepherd!

Another Summer beach season comes and goes
Good folks digging in the sand with toes
Clouds lined up like cookies in the sky
Kids at the shore keep a watchful eye

Thar she blows!- comes the jubilant shout
as another mamma Humpback blows her spout
They’re just in time for the yearly jubilation
Thank You Whales, and the whole Whale Nation!

You saved us once and we took your advice
We promise that you’ll never have to save us twice
From the Shepherds of the Sea to the Greens of Peace:
‘Let the ecosystems heal and the Seals increase!’

For immediate release: Thank You Whales Celebration, 3rd Annual

On August 16th, 2014 at the Avila Community Center in Avila Beach, the Ocean Outfall Group and fellow conservation groups bring you the 3rd Annual installment of Thank You Whales, a celebration commemorating the Miracle of Avila, when whales showed up in pre-hunting numbers at the gates of Diablo Canyon Nuclear Power Plant just in time to bring the world’s attention to planned seismic testing by plant owner, Pacific Gas and Electric. Because of the appearance of whales in Avila Harbor on August 16th, 2012, the seismic testing was defeated. And so every year, we say, ‘Thank You’-to our real heroes, the whales!

3rd Annual Thank You Whales is Saturday, August 16th 10:30am – sunset. Join us at the Avila Community Center to hear from some of the world’s top whale advocates!
